Born and raised in Avondale, I have lived and worked in many areas of Auckland giving me an extensive knowledge of the city. I have seen massive changes to both the city and its property values.
Married since 1990 to my wife Kim, we have two daughters.
I started my working career with the Inland Revenue in 1983. I have worked in the commercial sector in a variety of finance and management roles. In the mid 90,s I was General Manager of a medium sized engineering company. My last corporate role prior to becoming a Mortgage Broker in 2002 was Group Financial Controller for the BBQ Factory.
I was a director for 10 years of a private property investment company which at its peak owned 18 properties, and as a property investor myself I have personally bought and sold eight properties.
In my first year as a Mike Pero Mortgages Adviser I received the ‘Rookie of the Year’ award and have been one of the top Advisers each year since, personally arranging over $400 million worth of mortgages.
I am a Registered Financial Adviser, member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand and the New Zealand Mortgage Brokers Association.
In 2011 I completed a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies at Massey University majoring in Personal Financial Planning and also a National Certificate in Financial Services Level 5.
I am passionate about the property market; through my career I have amassed the right mix of skills (tax, financial, negotiation, property investment) to guide you through the lending process, point out structuring opportunities and know when you should seek expert tax, accounting or legal advice.
Services which I currently offer include Residential and Commercial Mortgages, Refinancing, Debt Consolidation, Life and other Personal, Medical and Income Insurances, Property Insurances including Home, Contents, Car, Boat, Landlords Protection and Travel.
