Mortgage leads to free holiday in Rarotonga

New homeowners who took out a mortgage and insurances with Mike Pero Mortgages have won what will be a belated honeymoon in Rarotonga.

Nicola and Daniel Mapletoft have been working towards buying their first home for almost three years and are now proud owners of a three-bedroom home in Henderson, thanks to advice from Mike Pero Mortgages franchise manager Oliver Broomfield.

Nicola says the house is a dream come true.  “We started talking to Oliver about three years ago, but couldn’t manage buying a house until now for various reasons. Oliver has been so helpful, we’ve kept in touch and this time it all happened.

“We took out a mortgage, consolidated our debt, joined Kiwi Saver, took out fire and general insurance, as well as car, contents and personal risk insurance,” she says.  “Oliver talked us through it all and showed us how to make it work best for us. He was brilliant.”

The Mapletoft's have won the Mike Pero Mortgages “Win A Trip To Rarotonga” competition. It gives them return flights for two from New Zealand to Rarotonga, airport and transfers within Rarotonga, seven nights in a suite at Pacific Resort Rarotonga, with complimentary breakfasts and all the water activity they can manage.

“It’s just fantastic,” Nicola says. “We didn’t have a honeymoon, so this will be it, although it’s three years late. I can’t believe we will have a week to ourselves on a beach in Rarotonga. It’s something we would never get the chance to do without winning it, so it’s just amazing.”

Oliver says he is thrilled for the Mapletofts.  “Nicola and Daniel have been working with me towards buying a house for some time, so it is lovely to see them in their home and their boys running around in the back yard,” he says.

“These new homeowners have been clever - to protect their assets they took out domestic insurance for house, car and contents. To protect their family, they took out personal risk insurance for life cover, trauma, mortgage protection and redundancy. Now they’re planning a free week on a beach!”
