Mike Pero Mortgages Opens New Office in Alpine Resort Town

Mike Pero Mortgages has officially opened its latest office in the resort town of Queenstown.

Franchisee Mark Magill bought the Queenstown/Wanaka franchise in February and says he is looking forward to operating out of the new Queenstown office.

“I’m originally from Canada but I love this area so much. Besides Canada, Queenstown is the only place in the world that I could really call home,” he says.
The office was officially opened last week with a wine tasting evening at local wine bar, “Wine Tastes”.

“It was the ideal time to open the office as other South Island franchisees were in town for a training course. Real Estate agents, clients, friends, local business people, Mike Pero
Mortgages CEO, Sandra Pigram and Don Brash were here to help me celebrate the occasion,” he says.

Mark Magill came to New Zealand in 1999 where he met his future wife. He was a ski instructor in Queenstown and spent time coaching the Alpine Ski team.
“I got totally immersed in the Queenstown community but still travelled back and forth between Beaver Creek ski resort in the States and here. At Beaver Creek I skied all day
with rich financial clients, even the President of Goldman Sachs, and this is when I first became interested in the financial market.”

He says it was a combination of factors that drew him towards buying a Mike Pero Mortgages franchise.

“My father worked in real estate for 30 years back in Canada so it was a big part of my childhood. I had developed strong customer service skills as a ski instructor and this,
alongside my new-found knowledge of the financial market, seemed a natural fit with the mortgage broking world.”

Mike Pero Mortgages Chief Executive Officer Sandra Pigram says it’s fantastic to be opening a new office in the Lakes District.

“There’s a large market down in Queenstown and Wanaka and Mark’s local knowledge and commitment to the area will be a welcome asset to the company,” she says.
